Laura Lizcano
Promotional Photography & Design for ‘Heart’ Album
LAURA LIZCANO (she/her) is a Colombian-born singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia.
Influenced by artists like Norah Jones and Natalia Lafourcade, Lizcano combines her formal
training as a jazz vocalist with her love for folk and pop music. This combination of styles is
evident within her own lyrically-driven compositions.

Laura expressed a desire to create colorful visuals for her album, Heart. She wanted to create art for
3 individual singles as well as promotional photographs that could be incorporated into an album design.
I created an initial color palette and assigned the 3 main colors to each single cover. I hand-painted the backdrop on the main album to reflect the spectrum of these 3 colors so all of them would be present behind Laura to make the palette cohesive. I also created different floral designs and handpainted canvases for each single to reflect what the titles were intending to express.
“True Love” centers on a heart-shaped anthurium flower and features Laura’s hand extending a bouquet, as one would do for a loved one. “Overworked & Underpaid” features a swirl of petals & coins. Laura also had the incredible idea for me to floral a cow heart for her single “Corazón” which was one of my favorite elements to floral.
